The Minneota Clay Target team was finally able to get outdoors and practice at the Southwest Sportsmen's Club a week ago. There are 35 members on this year's team.
Several individual wrestlers were honored Saturday during the Minneota Wrestling Banquet held at the Heritage Event Center in rural Taunton.
Braelyn Merritt won the 800 run and was part of the winning 4 x 800 relay team as the Canby/Minneota girls finished fifth among 10 teams at the Luverne Invitational last Tuesday.
Minneota/Canby opened the season on Friday by splitting a doubleheader, falling to Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley 8-7 in the first game, and beating Ortonville 8-1 in the second game.
Minneota exploded for 10 runs in the first inning en route to a 12-2 victory over Canby in the season opener Thursday at K.P. Kompelien Field in Minneota.
