Young Vultures fall prey to Slayton

With several players missing the game while embarked on a mission trip, the Minneota Junior Legion was roughed up by Slayton and lost 15-1 Thursday at K.P. Kompelien Field in Minneota.
"We played mostly a younger team and were outmatched by an older Slayton team," said coach J.D. Pesch.
Slayton outhit the youthful Minneota Vultures team. Brody Larson had two doubles among Minneota's three hits. Parker Bradley drove in the lone run with a sacrifice fly in the first inning. Keaton Jurrens had the other hit for the Vultures.
"We have a revolving rotation of players going to camps and vacations in the summer," said Pesch. "But our Junior Legion has strong numbers with 18 on the roster. This allows us to play all games where some teams are forfeiting due to low numbers of players. We are very happy with the commitment these players have."
