YME avenges loss to Minneota, 78-73
Yellow Medicine East shot a blistering 50 percent from the field and overcame 13 three-pointers from Minneota in defeating the Vikings 78-73 in the regular-season finale on Monday night in Granite Falls.
Bryce Sneller poured in 28 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished our four assists for the Sting (7-16). Sneller made 9 of 16 shots and 10 of 13 free throws. Owen Torvik added 15 points and seven rebounds, and Drew Almich had 11 points and four assists.
Minneota (8-15), which beat YME 56-46 on Feb. 3 at home, was hot from behind the three-point line, sinking 13 of 27 (48 percent), but made just 10 of 49 shots from inside the arc.
Lucas Rybinski scored a career-high 18 points for the Vikings, while also hooking seven rebounds. Ryan Dalager had 16 points, including four triples. Peyton Sheik added 14 points and eight rebounds, and Max Rost 13 points and 10 assists. Sawyer DeSmet pulled down 10 rebounds to go along with his seven points.
Minneota was given the No. 6 seed for the upcoming Section 3A-North playoffs (see schedule below) and will play No. 3 Central Minnesota Christian School at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 4 in Montevideo.

Minneota 81, TMB 55

Minneota made a school-record 15 three-pointers by seven different players and routed Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 81-55 on Parents' Night in Minneota.
The Vikings (8-15) connected on 15-for-34 shots from behind the arc for a robust 44 percent. TMB made 8 of 24 shots from three-point range.
Minneota also scored a season-high 49 points in the first half and led by 20 points at haltime.
Peyton Sheik had a double-double for the Vikings with team-highs of 20 points and 10 rebounds, Max Rost finished with 19 points and seven rebounds. Ryan Dalager had 11 points.
Anthony Rybinski and Jackson Lacek played their final game at home as the lone seniors on the team. Rybinski had nine points, five assists, three rebounds and a steal. Lacek hit a pair of three-pointers for his six points. Tate Peterson also drained a pair of triples for six points. Lucas Rybinski also had six points. Alex Munson led the Panthers (7-19) with 22 points, including five triples.
