Vikings turn back KMS, LQPV
Minneota got kills from seven different players en route to a convincing 25-18, 25-14, 25-12 Camden Conference victory over Lac qui Parle Valley Thursday night in Madison.
The Vikings improved to 2-0 in the conference and 7-2 overall with the sweep.
Dakoda Hennen had five ace serves for the second straight match as the Vikings continued to improve from the service stripe, erring on just two of 72 attempts.
"I thought we did a better job than we had been behind the service line," said Minneota coach Hayley Fruin. "Dakoda, especially, had a nice game against KMS and LQPV with aces and getting them out of system."
Elivia Faris knocked down a team-high 10 kills for the Vikings. Kenadi Arndt had eight kills, Eden Meagher six, Ella Johnson four, Sarah Gruenes and Emma Bottelberghe three apiece, and Jaylyn Coequyt one.
"Elivia and Kenadi have really been producing offensively," said Fruin."We do need to continue to work with all of our hitters because we want everyone to be an option each night."
Faith Myhre and Nevaeh Hennen finished with 20 and 12 assists, respectively for the Vikings.
Defensively, the Vikings also managed six stuffs at the net, led by Arndt with three, Faris two and Bottelberghe one.
Lyzah Sussner had a team-high14 digs, while Abby Rolbiecki had nine, Nevaeh Hennen six and Grace Hennen five.

Minneota (6-2) continued to display a balanced hitting attack as Kenadi Arndt became the fourth player to lead the team in kills this season. Arndt, who also had a team-high five blocks, finished with 11 kills as the Vikings won their conference opener in dominating fashion.
Elivia Faris added nine kills, Ella Johnson had eight and Eden Meagher added five. All three of them have also led the team in kills at least once this season.
The Vikings were again solid on defense with libero Lyzah Sussner chalking up a team-high 19 digs. Abby Rolbiecki, a defensive specialist, had 14 digs.
Dakoda Hennen dropped in five aces from the service stripe to lead the team in that category.
Nevaeh Hennen had a strong all-around game with 21 assists, two aces and seven digs. Faith Myhre notched 10 assists.
