Vikings finish 3-1 at Wabasso Duals
Minneota had five wrestlers win all four of their matches to help the Vikings finish 3-1 at the Wabasso Duals on Saturday.
Minneota (9-3) defeated Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 47-17, Quad County 56-11 and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Browerville 40-28 before falling to Adrian Area 38-19.
"I think we have had a very good start to the season," said co-coach Matt Myrvik. "We are starting to see some good progress with our technique and are wrestling better lately. We have had 22 wrestlers step on the varsity mat so far this season and we continue to get our inexperienced wrestlers some good mat time."
Going 4-0 on the day for the Vikings was Kaden Lasnetski (3 pins) at 114 pounds, Adam DeVlaemink (3 pins) at 127 pounds, Mason Javers (2 pins) at 139 pounds, Brock Fier (3 pins) at 152 pounds, and Alex DePestel (2 pins) at 172 pounds.
Kyson Arndt went 2-0 with two pins at 215 pounds. Ryan Meagher won his only match by pin at 285 pounds.
"We still need to finalize our roster and the weights we will be at as we get to the middle of January," Myrvik said. "We will get some good practice time this week and then our schedule will be tough the next three weeks as we will see a number of rated teams and section teams."

Minneota easily knocked off two opponents Thursday in the Fulda/Murray County Central Triangular, routing Redwood Valley 56-9 and FMCC 38-15 at Fulda.
Minneota (6-2) won 22 of 26 matches in the two duals.
Quinton Anderson (decision, major) at 121 pounds, Adam DeVlaeminck (pin, technical fall) at 127, Mason Javers (pin, decision) at 139, Brock Fier (major, decision) at 152, Destin Fier (pin, major) at 160, Alex DePestel (two majors) at 172, and Kyler Lozinski (forfeit, decision) at 285 all went 2-0 in the triangular.
