Viking boys roll over Fulda, Renville Co. West

Minneota completed a two-game in two-day sweep with a 96-49 win over Fulda Thursday and a 90-61 victory over Renville Co. West on Friday.

Minneota's Thomas Hennen sank five, three-pointers and 29 points to lead the Vikings past the Jaguars. Logan Sussner added 28 points and Nolan Boerboom 13.
RCW's Justin Schrupp had a 30-point outburst  but it wasn't enough to pull off a major upset as Renville County West took a 90-61 Camden Conference loss to top-ranked (Class A) Minneota on Friday night.

Aside from leading all scorers, Schrupp hit four three-pointers while also hauling in six rebounds. Tyler Rice finished with 12 points for the Jaguars while Riley Ashburn tallied eight points, six rebounds and four assists.

The Vikings also got nine points from Alex Saltzer.

RCW is now 5-5 on the year and the Vikings are 11-0.

Fulda . . .

A year ago, Minneota and Fulda got tangled in a hot-shooting affair that ended 105-85 in favor of Minneota.

It was different this year. The Vikings defeated winless Fulda (0-9), 96-49 with everyone getting a lot of playing time.

Five Vikings got into double figures. Logan Sussner led the way with 23 points, seven rebounds a six steals, along with Thomas Hennen's 23 points, four rebounds and five steals.

Also in double figures were Alex Saltzer with 16 points and five steals; Nolan Boerboom with 12 points and Jacob Hennen with 11.

Minneota benefited from 30 Fulda turnovers as the Vikings stole the ball 28 times.

Minneota led 55-19 at the half and expanded that lead in the second half.

Fulda's Tyler Madison scored 23 points; Payton Marquardt had 13 and former Minneotan Sam Cheadle countered with 11 points. Fulda had just 19 rebounds with Madison leading the way with seven.

Coming off the bench to score, in addition to Saltzer, was Grady Moorse with six.
