Showing off their new award from the Mudhens were Breeann and Wendy Larson. Some of the Mudhens are: (Left to right) Al Christianson, Austin Buysse, Zach Nuy, Danny Hennen, Adam Durfee (Brock Buysse in front), Tyson Sonnenburg, Henry Pesch. Several Mudhens were missing.

A Mudhen love affair

“I just love it,” said Wendy Larson when asked how she feels about Minneota Mudhen baseball.
Last week Larson and her daughter Breanne Larson, accepted a “Home Plate” award from the Mudhen baseball team, in honor of their support and in the memory of Wendy’s husband and Breanne’s father, Paul Larson.
“Paul loved the Mudhens and fully supported them,” said Wendy.
The former Minneota Mayor passed away 8 years ago but the Larson family has kept alive the Larson family devotion to Minneota sports — including the Mudhens.
Each year the Mudhens hold an annual Paul Larson Memorial Mudhen Tournament. Only this year it was rained out.
So last week the Mudhens presented the first place award, a home plate engraved with “Champions 2018” to the Larson Family in honor of their dedication to the Minneota Mudhens.
“This means a lot to us,” said Wendy Larson.
