Minneota turns back Rush City in Hopkins

The Minneota Girls Volleyball Team defeated Rush City in the Breakdown Sideout Classic at Hopkins Lindbergh on Saturday. Minneota is ranked No. 2 in Class A and Rush City was ranked No. 10. The Minneota volleyball team opened its 2018 season on Saturday at the Breakdown Sideout Classic in Hopkins. The No. 2 ranked Vikings swept Rush City by scores of 25-9, 25-16 and 25-10.Lizzy Gillingham led the way for the Vikings with 11 kills while Lydia Sussner added nine and Natalee Rolbiecki had seven. Ellie Pesch led in digs with 10 while Gillingham added seven and Abby Hennen chipped in five. Morgan Kockelman led in set assists with 34 while Sussner led in blocks with three. Gillingham led in serving with a perfect 19 of 19 with three aces while Rolbiecki went 12 of 12 with two aces and Abby Hennen had one ace on seven of eight attempts from behind the line.
