The Minneota Girls continued their hot shooting Tuesday night, lighting up the scoreboard on their way to an 80-48 victory over the Lac qui Parle Valley Eagles. After topping 100 points the night before, the Vikings showed no signs of slowing down. Led by Natalee Rolbiecki's (pictured) 21 point effort and Abby Hennen's 19 point evening, the Vikings used a balanced inside-out attack to notch the victory.

Minneota starts new win streak, defeats LQPV 80-48

After suffering its first loss of the season on Saturday, Minneota won its second straight game with an 80-48 Camden Conference victory over Lac qui Parle Valley on Tuesday night in Minneota. Natalee Rolbiecki paced the Vikings with 21 points.

Abby Hennen added 19 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals. The Eagles ran a box-and-one on Abby Hennen in the first half in an attempt to limit her scoring.

“It took our girls a few possessions to recognize what LQPV was doing and how to attack it,” said Coach Chad Johnston.

“The game overall was just at a slower place than we like to do play.”

To speed the game up, Minneota started pressing a little in the second half.

Morgan Hennen returned to the lineup after missing the last two games with an injured ankle and scored eight points, as did Kennedi Jurrens and Abby Rost.

Jurrens led the Vikings with nine rebounds. “Kennedi was able to get some shots to fall, which hopefully will allow her to gain confidence in what she can do to help contribute to the team,” Johnston said.

“She also did a great job rebounding in the second half.” Minneota, which led 38-25 at halftime, dominated the boards by a 44-18 margin.

Camryn Lee led LQPV with 11 points and Addy Bonn sank 10.
