Jason Myhre coming home

Because he knows the job, and even helped wit the grounds during his previous employment, he feels as though he can move into the job “running.”
Since most of his family lives in the Minneota area, he feels as though they’ve missed alot by being gone.
The family was part of what drew him and his family back to the community.
He will begin his duties on July 1, although it may be later when the family moves back due to a search for housing.
The current job for all athletic directors has been taxing because of the weather problems this spring.
In an unexpected “twist of fate”, the man whom Matt Myrvik replaced as Minneota Athletic Director, Jason Myhre, is coming home to replace Myrvik.
“I’m so happy to come home. The kids are excited and it’s a blessing,” said Myhre, currently the athletic director at Tri-City United in Montgomery.
He was a part-time athletic director at Minneota. Needing a full-time job, he accepted the post at Tri-City United two years ago. Now, Myhre is coming back to a full-time post as “Activities Director/Grounds Maintenance Director.”
Not only does Myhre praise Myrvik for his work, saying, “Matt has done a great job,” but he said they’ve been in contact on numerous occasions as “athletic directors,” supporting each other and helping solve each others problems.
Myhre was happy he and the Minneota administration were able to work out the arrangements for him to return.
“The school (administration) worked hard to make it work,” he said.
Myhre as been principal at St. Edward School, Minneota summer Recreation Director, part-time athletic director and player-manager of the Minneota Mudhens.
He also grew up and was raised in Minneota and played ball for the Vikings.
About returning to the job he previously held, Myhre said, “On paper it seems seamless.”

For the school district, it’s been a blessing to get Myhre back because of his connections with the school and the job.
Minneota School District Superintendent Dan Deitte has confirmed the fact Myhre has been hired as the Activities Director/Grounds Manager at the Minneota School to replace Matt Myrvik, who recently resigned.
Ironically, Myrvik replaced Myhre when the family moved to Montgomery and he took the athletic directors position for the Tri-City United School District.
“He wanted to come back to Minneota, interviewed and was selected as best candidate,” said Supt. Deitte.
Officially, the hiring will be brought to the Minneota School Board at the May meeting.
When Myhre was athletic director in Minneota, it was a part-time position. “The position wasn’t full-time when he left. That was something new added later,” said Deitte.
The position became “Activities Director” and included maintaining the grounds belonging to the district.
Deitte said the salary close to what Myrvik was making, about $5,000 more. “That’s because Jason has a degree and four years of experience, two in a larger district,” said the superintendent.
Otherwise, the position will be exactly the same as it was for Myrvik.
The fact Myhre is familiar with the school district and has gained valuable experience made him an appealing candidate.
