In dominating fashion, Minneota captured the Camden Conference championship with a 25-15, 25-13, 25-18 victory over MACCRAY on Monday night in Clara City.
Minneota (27-3) will next enter the Section 3A tournament and will take on either Dawson-Boyd or Lac qui Parle Valley in the 3A-North quarterfinals on Friday night in Minneota (see separate story on Page 4).
Minneota outlasted MACCRAY in one of the longest matches of the season in a previous meeting on Sept. 19 in Minneota, defeating the Wolverines 25-22, 25-21, 33-35, 25-27, 15-12.
This time, however, the defending state champions were in control from the start and finished off the Wolverines in less than an hour.
Kenadi Arndt and Eden Meagher led a balanced Minneota attack with nine kills apiece. Elivia Faris had seven kills, Emma Bottelberghe and Ella Johnson had six kills each, and Dakoda Hennen notched one.
The Vikings erred on just two of 74 serves with four aces.
Nevaeh Hennen had 22 set assists and shared team-high honors with nine digs. Faith Myhre added nine assists.
Arndt also chalked up three ace blocks, while Faris and Meagher were credited with two each.
Lyzah Sussner also had 13 digs and Abby Rolbiecki had seven.
