Girls, boys both place first at Raymond

Although only two of the six teams competing in the Central Minnesota Christian girls' cross country meet Monday in Raymond had full squads, Canby/Minneota swept the first five places for a perfect score of 15.
Wabasso also had a full unit and finished second with 51 points.
Claire Stoks came in first, followed by Braelyn Merritt, Hannah Vlaminck, Nohemi Diaz and Sadie Vlaminck.
Team points are counted only for those teams with five or more runners.
On the boys' side, Canby/Minneota had the top three finishers and finished first with 19 points. Ortonville was second with 52 points and New Testament was third with 96 points.
Kolton Duis was the top finisher in the boys' meet. Teammates Zach Ourada was second and Blake Giese third.

Luverne Invitational

Kolton Duis and Zach Ourada finished 1-2 and Blake Stoks was fourth as the Canby/Minneota boys captured first place in the six-tea, Luverne Invitational.
C/M had 32 points, while Windom Area was second with 45 points.
Blake Giese was 11th and Tristan Bierschenk 14th to round out the five scores for C/M.
"This team is working so hard, and their pack is getting tighter and tighter," said coach Allyson Pesek. "It will be fun to watch them as the next few weeks progress."
The C/M girls with 62 points placed second to Luverne's 28 points. Braelyn Merritt was fourth and Claire Stoks fifth to pace C/M. Hannah Vlaminck (13th), Nohemi Diaz (19th) and Sadie Vlaminck (21st) rounded out the top five C/M runners.
"Luverne is always a tough team, so it was fun for us to match up with them,” Pesek said.
