Vikings top KMS, LQPV; fall to Sisseton

Minneota went 2-1 over the past week, defeating Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 61-53 and Lac qui Parle Valley 67-30, before falling to South Dakota powerhouse Sisseton 84-39 this past Saturday.
The Vikings now stand 13-3 on the season.

Krista Langager, a 6-2 junior post, made 12 of 14 shots and finished with a game-high 26 points as unbeaten Sisseton rolled past Minneota 84-39 on Saturday in South Dakota.
"They're a really good team," said Minneota coach Al Panka. "We didn’t match up well at all, didn’t play well either."
Sisseton (10-0) is ranked No. 1 in Class A in South Dakota, which has only three classes. The Redmen's average scoring margin of victory this season is 37. They have topped the century mark once and have beaten five of its opponents by 40-or-more points, including one by 88 points.
Sisseton made 36-of-66 shots (55 percent) of its shots from the field against Minneota, which shot only 26 percent.
Hannah Leverson added 15 points and Alexie Quinn had 12.
Kenadi Arndt had another double-double for Minneota with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Dakoda Hennen and Faith Myhre had eight points apiece, while Kiersyn Hulzebos had six points.

Minneota scored 18 unanswered points during the first half and went on to a 67-30 triumph over Lac qui Parle Valley in a Camden Conference game on Friday night in Minneota.
The Vikings (13-2) had 10 players score in the game, led by Faith Myhre with 14 points. Kenadi Arndt notched a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Kiersyn Hulzebos also reached double digits in scoring with 12 points.
Minneota jumped out to a 10-3 lead with Dakoda Hennen starting things off with a three-pointer from the corner. Myhre cashed a pair of free throws to make it 5-0. After the Eagles (1-13) got on the board with a three-pointer from Kendyl Shelstad, Arndt scored inside and Hulzebos drained a three-pointer for the seven-point advantage.
LQPV then scored eight straight points to grab a brief 11-1 advantage with 12:55 left in the half. Minneota then went on its 18-0 run and the rout was on. During the 18-point run, Myhre amassed seven points, Arndt scored six points, Grace Hennen cashed three free throws, and Hulzebos had two points.
The Vikings' relentless defense forced LQPV into 35 turnovers, while only committing a season-low nine themselves.
Grace Hennen finished with eight points, six steals and five rebounds. Dakoda Hennen had seven points and three steals, Sarah Gruenes had four points, Emma Bottelberghe and Nevaeh Hennen had three points apiece, and Abby Rolbiecki and Claire Rost each had two points.
Jalyn Lee led the Eagles with 11 points, including hitting both of her three-point attempts.

Minneota rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 61-53 on Tuesday night in Kerkhoven.
A 10-2 run to start the second half put the Vikings (12-2) back in the game. From there, they eventually took a 45-44 lead and never trailed after that, overcoming a 27-point performance from Acelynn Hacker.
Grace Hennen pumped in a team-high 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field and 6-of-8 from the charity stripe. She also had five steals for the second straight game. Kenadi Arndt finished with 18 points, 15 rebounds and four steals. Kiersyn Hulzebos netted 11 points, and Faith Myhre had seven points and seven rebounds.
The teams had similar shooting percentages, both making four treys, and each grabbing 40 rebounds. The Vikings, however, won the battle at the free-throw line, cashing 13-of-21 shots, while KMS hit 7-of-13.
Hacker was the lone player in double figures for the Fighting Saints (11-5). She made 11 of 25 shots, including a pair of three-pointers. Emily Wagner had eight points and Mamie Luft pulled down 12 rebounds.
