Minneota’s all-time top wins leader is Christian Skillings with 215 wins in 2011. Sam Derynck is second at 198 in 2010. This year’s heavyweight T.J. Esping has placed sixth on the all-time top 10 list in Minneota with 160 wins.

The list includes: 1. Skillings 215; 2. Derynck 198; 3. Beau Buysse 189; 4. Bryce Bruner, 180; 5. Rickey Peterson 161; 6. Esping 160; 7. Adam Josephson 158; 8. Todd Opdahl 156; 9. Josh VanOverbeke 151; 10. Todd Traen 149.

Esping, who had 90 career pins, tied Adam Josephson with the most career pins. Bruce Laleman is second at 87 with Derynck third at 82 and Peterson and Bruner tied with 75.

Minneota’s career takedown leader is Skillings with 530.

Opdahl is second at 422; Derynck third at 410; Jason Fier fourth at 367 and Beau Buysse fifth at 355. The nearfall leader all-time is Bruce Laleman at 196. Bruner is second at 178 with Matt Myrvik third at 159; Skillings fourth at 156 and Jason Fier fifth at 154.

When it came to reversals, the all-time Viking leader is Mike Myhre at 107, a mark he set in 2002.

Travis Gillund is second with 102 followed by Shawn Vlaminck at 100; Luke DePestel at 97 and Chad Lozinski and Josh VanOverbeke at 91 each. Minneota’s all-time escape artist was Nicholas Esping, a mark he set in 2015 with his 215th escape.

Wade Eischens is second at 208; Matt Buysse and Derynck third at 183 and Jared Longtin fifth at 142. When it comes to most team points, Adam Josephson set the single-season mark in 2012 with 246 and Skillings holds the career mark at 991.

The all-time fastest pin on record was a six-second pin by Blake Nelson at 220-pounds in 2017.

That same year T.J. Esping got a pin in seven seconds and Wade Gillund had the same at 160 pounds in 2002. He also had one at eight seconds at 170 pounds in 2003.

Also getting eight-second pins were Peterson and Ben Vlaminck.

The best single-season record by a Viking was set by Josh VanOverbeke with a 44-1 mark in 2012. There have been 32 Minneota wrestlers with 100 wins or more and 23 wrestlers with 75-99 wins.

Bryce Bruner holds the record for most wins in a season at 46 while Adam Josephson and Josh VanOverbeke had 45.

The Vikings best career winning percentage is held by Kris Fier with a 64-5 record or a 92.75 win percent.

Skillings was second at 215 and 20 or 91.48 percent. After them were Beau Buysse and Tanner Skillings.

Since 1979, Minneota has captured 88 team championships, including section titles and the state tournament title in 2015.
