C/M boys, girls third at LPQV meet

On a hot and humid day, the Canby/Minneota boys and girls cross country teams both finished third at the Lac qui Parle Valley Invitational last Tuesday, Sept. 20 in Madison.
Both teams had two of the top 10 individual finishers.
"There are so many good things happening for the Canby/Minneota cross country teams," said coach Allyson Pesek. "I met with the boys and girls' teams last week and told them just that. Depth is great."
Pesek feels by utilizing the depth, the teams will be stronger as the season progresses.
"We saw some new competition today," she said. "We know we will meet them again. We may not have been where we want to be. However, we don't need to be there right now. It will come; we have no doubt."
Murray County Central won the 10-team boys' meet with 68 points. Milbank was second with 77 points and Canby/Minneota just one point behind in third with 78 points.
