Canby/Minneota concludes dance season at section meet

The Canby/Minneota Sensations enjoyed a solid season but were unable to clinch a spot in the State Dance Meet after competing in the Section 3A competition Saturday in Montevideo.
Canby/Minneota was fifth in High Kick and eighth in Jazz.
"The Sensations had a great season this year," said coach Shauna Jo Vernlund. "It's not how we wanted our season to end but I couldn't have asked for a better performance at sections from these athletes."
The top three spots in both High Kick and Jazz went to the Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd Shadows, Yellow Medicine East Silhouettes, and Montevideo Gold Dusters. Those three teams will compete in the state meet on Feb. 17- & 18 at Target Center.
"Section 3A is a tough one with so many amazing teams," said Vernlund. "We are losing four amazing seniors but the future looks strong for the Sensations."
The C/M seniors this year were Kaitlyn Ludwikowski, Emma Vernlund, Paige Viessman and Bianca Elsing.
