Boys & Girls Cross Country
For the first time in three years, Canby/Minneota was able to host a cross country meet following cancellations the past two years due to inclement weather.
The Canby/Minneota runners won both the boys and girls' portion of the six-team Camden Conference meet.
"Our runners showed their pride running at home," said C/M coach Allyson Pesek. "Wow, did we have a great meet."
In the girls' race, Canby/Minneota recorded a "perfect score" with runners finishing in all five of the top spots, and had seven of the top nine finishers. Braelyn Merritt finished in first place in 20:44, followed by teammates Claire Stoks, Mya Pesek, Jordyn Jostock, Nohemi Diaz and Ava Danielson from to sixth place, respectively. Taylor Ourada finished in ninth place.
On the boys' side, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton's Logan Roelofs finished first in 17:12. Canby/Minneota's Zach Ourada was second, Kolton Duis third, Blake Giese fourth, Talllen Merritt eighth, and Sam Skorczewski 10th.
