Bench players respond to call on the court

Coach Hayley Fruin has responded to her team's 29-1 season by sprinkling in players off the bench.

Rather than throw them in all together, she's preferred putting them on the floor with the regulars, to learn from the starters.

Thursday night against Windom, another easy 3-0 victory, freshman Abby Frie, a 5-9 middle hitter got action at the net.

Fruin knows the future is in players like Frie. McKenzie Tolk, a backcourt player and solid server also made it the floor along with Madison Sorensen, the backup setter.

Abby Rost came of the bench as well. Coach Fruin has also sprinkled in McKenna Yost, a freshman setter.

One nice thing about lopsided victories is the bench players get a chance to gain experience.
