Balanced attack lifts Minneota
Natalee Rolbiecki turned in another sterling performance, scoring a game-high 24 points, as Minneota thumped Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Monday night in Tracy.
"Natalee's game continues to get stronger and stronger as the season progresses," said Coach Chad Johnston. "And you can see her playing with a lot of confidence right now."
Morgan Hennen contributed 20 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Abby Hennen notched 18 points, seven rebounds and five steals.
"We had great performances from Abby, Morgan and Natalee," Johnston remarked. Minneota broke away from a relatively close game at 26-21, outscoring the Panthers 30-16 the rest of half for a 56-37 halftime advantage.
"We shot extremely well from the three-point line and the free-throw line," said Johnston.
"A lot of good things happen when the ball is going in the basket." Minneota shot 54 percent from the field, including 8 of 15 from beyond the arc, and drained 15 of 21 free throws (71 percent).
Rolbiecki made 8 of 14 shots, including 3 of 5 three-pointers, to go along with five rebounds for the Vikings.
The Hennens each made 7 of 14 shots from the floor. "We dominated the boards (42-19) and that was big for us," said Johnston.
"We got a lot of second attempts at the basket. A lot of people got involved in that, but Abby Rost continues to shine in that area of the game." Rost pulled down seven rebounds, as well as scoring eight points.
Kennedi Jurrens also had eight points and collected four rebounds. "We continue to get good minutes out of Jeren Rost and Kennedi in the paint, both offensively and defensively," Johnston concluded.
Jordan Munson had 15 points for TMB. Jadyn Lessman added 11 points.
