Magic happens on baseball fields all the time. When a team suddenly, “comes together,” the coach usually knows.
“They’re learning the game and it’s fun to watch,” said Minneota Jr. Legion Coach JD Pesch.
The Junior Vultures won their second one-run, come-from-behind game this week when they beat Montevideo, 4-3.
Friday they stunned Benson, 5-4.
Astonishingly, it’s some of the smallest players around who are making the biggest difference.
Take Josh Schuelke’s two-run scoring single in the fourth to pull Minneota within 3-2.
Cooper VanOverbeke did exactly what was needed when he hit a grounder to score Carter Schuelke with the tying run.
