Baseball field being renovated

Money is being raised for renovations to the home team dugout at K.P. Kompelien Field.
 “The dugout itself is planned to be expanded and a seating area put on top of the dugout. The press box will be relocated to the upper deck as well in order to make more room in the dugout,” said Pesch, who has spearheaded the design along with Larson.
An upgrade to the public address system will also be added.
The storage area attached to the back of the dugout will house both baseball and field maintenance equipment.
“We do appreciate any and all donations. We’ve added five unique ways to let your support be recognized at the Komp,” said Pesch.
They are:
•$100 (Single) Name imprinted on a 4 x 8 brick with another donor.
•$200  (Double) Name imprinted on a 4 x 8 brick.
•$300  (Triple) Name imprinted on an 8 x 8 brick.
•$500 (Home Run) Name imprinted on a 12 x 12 brick.
$1000+ (Grand Slam) Name printed on a sign that will be permanently hung on the railing around the new upper deck of dugout.
•Bricks will be laid into the ground in the home fan area at K.P. Kompelien Field. They can be customized with a year of graduation/class, a specific team, or family.
There may also be a covering over the grandstand. The committee is looking at a shade similiar to that used at Boxelder Bug Days to keep the sun from penetrating visitors.
The Minneota City Council recently installed drinking water at the field.
In the past, only water from the Yellow Medicine River was available and that used to water the field.
Now, city council is also studying the possibility of adding permanent toilet facilties.
