Professional speaks to local golfers

When a professional golfer speaks, the kids listen.

This week Emily Roering, a women's professional golfer, made a presentation to the Minneota boys' and girls' golf team.
"Our goal was to introduce an outstanding resource that could has experienced phenomenal success as a high school, college and now professional golfer," said Minneota Coach Greg Gile.

Emily grew up in the Minnewaska area and had success with the Minnewaska golf team (numerous state championships). 

Her scoring average was, and remains the lowest recorded at the girls state meets! 

"She played in the number one position on the Colorado State golf team for four year before turning pro by entering the  LPGA tour," said Gile. 

Three years later she became an assistant pro at the Geneva Golf Club in Alexandria and now is the head pro at the Marshall Golf Course.
"We already have one member of the team taking lessons from Emily," said Coach Gile.
According to the coach, "We have in the past ,and hope to continue to work closely with local professionals.  Emily is a resource we will definitely use as often as possible!"
