Landon and his grandparents, Jim and Becky Rolbiecki.

Landon comes home

Ironically, Jim Rolbiecki and his grandson Landon were in the hospital in Sioux Falls at the same time. Jim was getting work done on a disc in his neck while Landon was having surgery on the leg he broke in the Lakeview game a couple of weeks ago.

Grandpa has a brace on his neck and Landon is in a wheel chair with his leg propped up, yet both were at the Minneota vs. Wabasso volleyball game Tuesday night to support not only the Vikings, but their sister and granddaughter, Natalee Rolbiecki, who plays on the Vikings volleyball team.

Landon and his parents will return to Sioux Falls on Thursday for tests and his mother Karen indicated there could be more surgery in store.

The future of young Rolbiecki is still uncertain, but it’s been a “shot in the arm” for Landon and the family to have him home again.

As for Landon, he’s happy to be home, but wishes he could be out on the football field with his friends.

But right now, it’s one step ... or, that is, one leg at a time.

LAUGH A LITTLE: That’s just wrong! You know you’re texting too much when …you’re happy when you get stopped at a red light.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: As my Ole Pappy used to say: “It always seem impossible, until your done.” Ole Pappy wasn’t one for sitting around wondering how to get the job done. He just went ahead and did it. Great lesson on life. Thanks Ole Pappy!
