Senior guard Ryan Dalager scored a career-high 28 points, to go along with eight rebounds, seven steals and five assists as Minneota trounced Wabasso 88-51 last Thursday night in Wabasso.
The Vikings (9-2), who connected on a season-high 11 triples from five different players in all, scored the first 12 points of the game en route to a 43-25 halftime advantage.
Sawyer DeSmet recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Max Rost also had 14 points, while Peyton Sheik finished with 13. Lincoln Jerzak and Lucas Rybinski added eight points apiece.
Dalager made 9 of 21 shots from the floor, including 6 of 13 three-pointers. His previous career high was 27 points and five three-pointers.
"I didn't feel it right away because I missed my first two three-point shots," said Dalager, when asked if he could tell he was going to have a good night shooting. "Then I hit my next two (three-pointers) and it felt better."
Dalager then proceeded to drain four treys in the second half.
The Vikings shot 43 percent from the field as a team and outrebounded the Rabbits 39-23.
Minneota was coming off a lopsided loss to MACCRAY two nights earlier, but regrouped and shot much better.
"We couldn't hit the broad side of a barn that night," said Dalager about the Jan. 2 loss to the Wolverines. "MACCRAY has a very good team and they couldn't miss that night. We just have to keep playing together as a team and not worry about individual stuff. We've got a team where anyone can lead us in scoring so we just need to keep feeding the one with the hot hand."
Tavyn Larson had 12 points and Joseph Liebl 10 for Wabasso (3-6).
