SHOOTING THREAT WRITTEN ON WALL AT MARSHALL HS; POLICE RESPOND

MARSHALL (KMHL) – The Marshall High School received a threat of a shooting at the school last Wednesday.
A source told the Mascot that the threat was written on a wall with a marker inside one of the girls' bathrooms at the school and that one or more students reported it to administrators.

Parents of Marshall High School students were soon notified via phone message by Principal Brian Jones that there was an increased police presence in the school building and that law enforcement officers were interviewing students and faculty in order to gather more information about the threat.

Marshall cancelled some of its high school activities following the threat, including Snow Week coronation and Pep Fest, but eventually resumed classes on Thursday.

The school said that all threats are taken seriously, and the safety of its students is of utmost importance.

The Marshall Police Department asks that anyone with information should contact them or Marshall High School administrators.
