School board busy

IN THE school board meeting last week the board:

•Approved open enrollment of a seventh grade student from the Hendricks School District and a Kindergarten student from the Ivanhoe School District for the 2017-2018 school year.

•Approved of non-certified part-time staff for the 2017-2018 school year as presented. Para-Professionals: Faith Buysse, Kathy Fier, Tami Tolk, Robin Traen, Margarita Williams, Carmen Yost, Denise Buysse, Nikki DeBoer, Janet Flood, Caryn Hetland, Katie Kack, Zita Miskiniene, Marlys Skaar, & Brandi Stefansen; Food Service: Mary Haugen, Davett Jeremiason, Kristi Breyfogle, and Carey Doyscher; and Library Aides: Sandy Minnehan and Nancy Dilley.

•Approved the following fall coaches and advisors: Chad Johnston (Head Football Coach), Matt Myrvik, Steve Sussner, Les Engler (Assistant Football Coaches), Chuck Josephson, Tony Esping, Jordan Fink (JH Football Coaches), Samantha Pies (JH Volleyball Coach), John Voit (Band Director), Christy Opdahl (Annual/Photo), Chris Shuckhart (Senior Class Advisor), Miranda Gravley (Junior Class/Prom Advisor).

•Approved renewing membership in Minnesota School Board Association for 2018 at a cost of $3,746.

•Approved a lane change for Amanda Crowley from BA to BA+15, effective for the 2017-2018 school year.

•Approved Molly Hennen as a Junior High Volleyball coach for the 2017 season. •Approved Nancy Dilley to supervise a study hall for one hour/day at BA Base.

•Approved Tami Tolk as the Extra Duty Coordinator at a rate of $2,640 for the 2017-18 school year (3 percent increase).

•Approved Ruth Bot & Mary Noyes (up to .5 FTE each) as long term substitutes for Elementary Special Ed from August 23, 2017-October 17, 2017 at $25.62/hour.

•Approved a contract with Big Stone Therapies for PT Services from August 1, 2017 to July 31, 2018.

•Set the next regular school board meeting for 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 15.
