New Viking statue in place

After last year's storm toppled and destroyed the large wooden Viking statue at K.P. Kompelien Field, a new Viking statue made by chainsaw artist and Dawson native Jordan Dahl was delivered last Friday to the field. Dahl also made the original statue. The new statue is also impressive and will stand around 20 feet high once it is placed on a six-foot base that is being constructed. When completed, the statue will be placed where the original one was behind the goal post on the east end of the football field.
