Five cows were swimming for their lives during a flood outside of Ghent on June 17, 1957. The cows all made it to higher ground near the washed-out bridge (pictured). Nine inches of rain fell in the Minneota area, resulting in the worst flood ever to hit here. Over half the homes in Minneota suffered some type of water damage.
