Marshall police looking for help after armed robbery

Marshall police are asking for help to solve an armed robbery that occurred on Sunday. “At approximately 12:30 am, officers from the Marshall Police Department responded to a reported armed robbery on Peltier St.

The complainant/victim reported walking from his residence to his parked car when another male stood up from behind one of the parked vehicles, pointed a handgun at the victim, and demanded money,” said Sgt. Tim Tomasek of the Marshall Police Department.

“The suspect then had the victim take off his jacket, took the victim’s wallet, and ran across the railroad tracks and vanished. Officers were able to follow the tracks for a distance but eventually lost them,” Tomasek indicated.

The suspect was described as a Caucasian male, wearing an orange cap and tan Carhartt jacket.

The victim was not injured and the firearm was not discharged.

The Marshall Police Department, in conjunction with the Marshall Crime Fund, is offering a reward of $500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
