Man dies in area crash

An Alexandria man, Joseph William Koopman, 40, died when his car rolled over in the ditch on County Road 24, two miles west of Hwy. 59 about 11:22 a.m. today (Thursday).
Road conditions at the time were clear and dry.
The Lyon County Sheriff's Office said a 2011 Chevrolet Impala was west bound and left the roadway and overturned.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
Responding to the scene were the sheriff's office, Cottonwood Fire Department, Cottonwood Ambulance and North Memorial Ambulance.
Sheriff Eric Wallen indicated an investigation of the crash will be on-going.
