Engels tops in speech meet

Marshall easily won the Pipestone Speech Tournament on Saturday with 125 points. There were 13 teams and Minneota finished eighth.
Murray County Central was second; Luverne third and Worthington fourth.
Sarah Engels of Minneota took third place in Great Speeches and she was the top finisher for Minneota. Cora Engels was fifth in Extemporaneous reading.
Brenden Kimpe was sixth in Extemporaneous Speaking and Sean Dilley took seventh in Informative.
This was the Minneota varsity’s second meet of the year.
A week earlier, they took second place at the Worthington Tournament.
The Minneota Junior High held a home tournament on Tuesday.
