Dairy judging team is second at SDSU
The Minneota FFA Dairy Judging Team placed second overall at the South Dakota Little International in Brookings, SD.
Hutchinson won the event with a score of 850 with Minneota second at 843. There were 39 teams in the event with Jackson County Central third at 832; Edgerton fourth at 827 and St. James fifth at 809.
Individually, Minneota judges placed very high. Taking second overall was Grady Moorse with a 294.
In sixth was Logan Schuelke with Emily Buysse in 21st, Josh Schuelke in 23rd and Zach Fier 68th.
There were 140 judges in the event.
IN THE Livestock Evaluation, the Minneota team finished in eighth place.
Pipestone Area won it with 981 points with Minneota with 931. Medford was second; Luverne Two third; Howard, SD fourth and Kenyon Wanamingo fifth.
Eighty-six teams entered this category. Minneota had a second team in judging and they finished in 63rd place.
The General Livestock team includes: Rachel Vlaminck, Lane Loyson, Brynn Lozinski, Carly Van Keulen, Brenden Kimpe, Brady Gifford and Gared Moorse.
Minneota’s Rachel Vlaminck finished 10th as the top Minneota judge in the Livestock Evaluation category.
Carly Van Keulen took 13th place amongst the 340 individuals.
