Blood drive exceeds goal with 50 units
At the Minneota Community Blood Drive last Wednesday, June 22, a total of 50 units were collected at the American Legion.
"It was a great day. We went over our goal of 39 by 11 units," said Barb Okrina, Minneota Community Blood Drive Coordinator.
A total of 46 presented and there were three deferrals and eight Power Red donations.
Betty Gossen reached a 10-gallon milestone at the recent blood drive. Caren Buysse has now donated a total of four gallons, and Brad Minnehan has donated two gallons.
Alexa Swedzinski was recognized as a first-time donor.
"Thank you to all who took time out of their busy day to donate blood," said Okrina. "Also, thank you to the American Legion for donating the site and a special thank you to all that helped."
Lynn's Woodworking sponsored the blood drive.
Judy Traen, Brenda Verschelde, Kathy Wyffels, Pauline Wambeke, Terry Van Keulen and Donna Buysse volunteers as greeters and in the canteen area.
The next blood drives will be held on Oct. 5, 2022 and Jan. 25, 2023 at the Legion building.
