VanOverbeke receives AMEM Life Member Award

The Association of Minnesota Emergency Managers (AMEM) is pleased to announce that Tammy VanOverbeke, Lyon County Retired, has been awarded the AMEM Life Member Status.
AMEM’s Life Member Award goes to an individual who is retired from the Emergency Management profession that has made major contributions to the Association as well as the Emergency Management Profession.
These awards are nominated by the Individuals emergency management State Region and approved by the Board of Directors. This is the highest honor that the Association awards.
In Region V Emergency Managers nomination letter, they write: "Tammy Van Overbeke (retired from Lyon County EM) has served as the Regional Representative for 17 years. She is seen as the “EM Expert” to go to seek advice, vent about work or just visit. Tammy provided leadership and was a mentor to new EMs in the region. She worked hard to keep Lyon County and Region V safe. She was one of the first to help out after a disaster struck assisting several counties across Minnesota over the years."
"Tammy has always been a dedicated Emergency Management professional as well as a friend to many of us at AMEM," Garry Johanson, AMEM President said. "I like that she always speaks her mind and also listens to others as they share their Emergency Management stories. She will be sorely missed by us at AMEM."
