Historic Chippewa City and the Swensson Farm Museum opening for the season

The Chippewa County Historical Society is pleased to announce that Historic Chippewa City will open for the season on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 1 p.m. and the Swensson Farm Museum will open for the season on Saturday May 25 & 26 at 1 p.m.

The Lac Qui Parle Mission opened April 28. Hours for Historic Chippewa City are Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Again this year, the hours for the Swensson Farm Museum will be Saturdays and Sundays, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. with private tours available by appointment.

These hours will continue through the Labor Day Weekend. The Lac qui Parle Mission is open 8 a.m.– 8 p.m. daily through Labor Day. Historic Chippewa City is located at the junctions of U.S. Highways 7 & 59 in Montevideo.

The Swensson Farm Museum is located six miles east of Montevideo or 11 miles west of Clara City on Highway 7, and 5 miles south on County Road 6, or 4 miles north of Granite Falls on county road 5 and 2 3/4 miles west on County Road 15. The Lac qui Parle Mission is located 7 1/2 miles north of Montevideo on U.S. Highway 59 and 2 1/2 miles west on County Road 33. Turn right onto 140th Ave NW and the Mission is on the right.
