February High School Viking Valor winners

February Viking Valor winners in the junior and senior high are:

Seventh Grade: Michael Popowski leads by example. He is a well-mannered student that treats his teachers and classmates with respect. He’s prepared for his classes and always does top-notch work.

Eighth Grade: Emma Lipinski approaches school activities with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She is an organizer and planner who possesses a natural maturity and leadership skills. Rarely satisfied with the status quo, Emma sets high standards and has the ambition to take her talent to the next level; she does not let setbacks hinder her spirit.

Ninth Grade: Braxton Downing is consistently demonstrates the Viking Valor attributes – Respect, Honor and High Expectations. A conscientious musician, he leads by example, is disciplined and teachable, willingly accepts challenges and isn’t afraid of what others might say.

Tenth Grade: Jacob Haen is a positive influence in and out of the classroom. He’s willing to step forward and help out where and when needed. He also has a great sense of humor.

Junior: Zach Van Keulen started this school year by leaping out of his comfort zone and accepting a major role in the Fall Musical, his first MHS theatrical experience. In spite of juggling academics, football and church activities, he crafted Daddy Warbucks’ character with the skill of a seasoned actor. When not on the field or stage, Zach is an enthusiastic Minneota Viking who takes full advantage of Student Council “Dress-up Days” and can often be seen on sports events sidelines cheering, drumming with Pep Band, or singing the “Star Spangled Banner.” He is also one of the first to “pitch in” when it comes to setting up and putting away equipment for Band performances.

Senior: Hunter Fier is a silent leader in the classroom. He lets his actions do the talking. Hunter is respectful of his teachers and classmates and he’s respected by them in return.
