Merritt, Ourada named MVP’s of Canby/Minneota cross country

Braelyn Merritt and Zach Ourada were voted by teammates as the Most Valuable Girls and Boys, respectively, of the Canby/Minneota cross country teams at an awards banquet last week in Canby.
Merritt, a senior, was a Section 3A medalist and placed 21st at the state meet, as well as winning the Camden Conference meet this season. She is a six-year letterwinner.
Ourada, also a senior, was the boys' top runner all season. He was the Camden conference champion.
Most Improved runners were Taylor Ourada for the girls and Jack Abrahamson for the boys.
Hardest Workers were Claire Stoks and Mya Pesek for the girls, and Blake Giese and Sam Skorczewski for the boys.
Earning all-conference honors this season for the girls were: Merritt, Stoks, Pesek, Jordyn Jostock, Taylor Ourada, and Ava Danielson. All-conference for the boys were: Zach Ourada, Blake Giese. Tallen Merritt and Abrahamson.
Earning Conference Academic Awards for the Canby/Minneota girls were: Merritt, Claire Stoks, Hannah Fadness, Sadie Skogen, and Natalie Stoks. C/M boys earning Conference Academic Awards were: Ourada, Kolton Duis, Giese, and Skorczewski.
Merritt and Stoks earned Girls' All-State Academic this season, while Ourada earned Boys' All-State Academic.
