This photo is of the American Legion building in Minneota. The drive to build an American Legion building began in 1946 with four local firms - Farmers and Merchants State Bank, Geiwitz and Co., O.G. Anderson & Co., and V.V. Gislason Hardware - donating $500 each. By the end of 1946, over $11,000 had been donated for the building. Work began in June, 1947. The building was completed early in 1948 and the first dance was held in the building April 1, 1948.
