Prairie Home Hospice grateful for support

The Prairie Home Hospice Annual Charity Ball & Auction has long been a favorite charity event in Lyon County every spring. This year’s “BBQ, Blues & Brews” event held on Saturday, April 8 at Red Baron Arena & Expo was no exception.

“We’ve hosted this event for over 30 years, but this year’s events took top honors,” said Pat Mellenthin, CEO of Prairie Home Hospice & Community Care. “The larger venue allowed us to sell about 150 more tickets this year than in past years and sponsorships were up significantly as well, which helped lay the foundation for a great charity event.”

“The support of the community is incredibly heartwarming,” said Mellenthin. “Over 600 individuals, businesses and organizations contributed in one way or another to help make this event a success.”

“The consistent support we receive year after year reflects a very caring and generous community, and we are very grateful for all the support we receive, not only through this event, but all year long.” “We remain a small, free-standing non-profit organization that was built by the community to serve the community”, said Mellenthin.

“The Annual Hospice Charity Ball & Auction is a reflection of that community ownership. We are so grateful to all of our event sponsors, volunteers, the nearly 500 people who attended the event, and all who contributed in one manner or another to make the event such a great success.” “We look forward to this event year after year. It provides an opportunity to celebrate the work we do and raise funds that allow us to continue our proud tradition of providing quality care and compassionate service to those in need of hospice in our community,” said Mellenthin. “We are truly grateful for all of the support we receive from so many in the community.”
