The Minneota Viking Volleyball team is headed to the State Class A Championship!

On Friday afternoon, defeated Bethlehem Academy of Fairbault 3-0 winning 25-19; 27-25 and 25-11.

Coach Hayley Fruin tried to watch as her team fell apart in the third game. Fans behind her were also stunned as Canby took a 14-point lead. But it ended well after a "stunning" comeback and 27-25 Minneota win to put the Vikings in the section finals.

Youngsters like Natalie Rolbiecki are getting varsity experience at a young age. But the preparation they get by playing Junior Olympic volleyball in the summer gives them a jump up on competition that hasn’t prepared so vigorously.

Natalie Rolbiecki used her 5-11 frame to leap, turn and attack the ball at the net. It landed with a thud on the other side.

With her eye on the ball, Sydney Larson hit it back toward the net and kept watching. She will be one of the front-line girls expected to help the Vikings this year.
