There are 7,459 student athletes scheduled to participate in the 2017 Trap Shooting Championship, June 12-20 at the Alexandria Shooting Park in Alexandria.
Travis Engels continued his torrid trap shoot pace by hitting 25 of 25 targets in the first round and 23 of 25 the second time around to again pace the Minneota Trap Shooting team.
Minneota Trap Shooter Travis Engels had another good week on the range and is ranked No. 4 in the top 25 of the State Trap Shoot League. Minneota is in Class 2A, Conference 2.
Along with 11,040 student participants from 343 high school teams, the Minneota Clay Target Team opened it’s season last week and Travis Engels was the team’s stop shooter.

A year ago, then eighth grader Travis Engels went to the state trap shoot in Alexandria and competed as just one of two Minneota shooters in the varsity tournament.
