Kathleen 'Kat' Janssen

The memorial service for Kathleen “Kat” Janssen, 66, of Minneota, will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Rehkamp Horvath Funeral Home in Minneota.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in Minneota.
Kathleen Marie Janssen, known to her friends as “Kathy” or later as “Kat” was born on January 8, 1953, in Tyler, MN, to Dwayne and Mary (Smith) Ramert.
She grew up in the Tyler Area and graduated from Lynd High School. She was united in marriage to David Karlstad Sr. To this union were born Cindy and Davey.
Kathy worked at a variety of jobs including for Tony’s Depot, Bromen Office Supply and the Schwan Food Company.
On March 15, 1986, she was united in marriage to Jim Janssen. The couple enjoyed motorcycling and classic cars including bike rallies and car shows.
Kathy also enjoyed scrap booking and reading.
Kat died on Monday, February 25, 2019, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall after a brief battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
She is survived by her husband, Jim, of Minneota, children Cindy (and Chris) Boe of Lynd, Davey (and Heidi) Karlstad Jr. of Marshall, stepson Jesse Possail of Watkins, grandchildren Noah and Cole and step-grandchildren Kira and Shelby, and she is also survived by her brother Ronnie (and Kim) Ramert of Russell.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Gary Ramert.
