Calixto Ramos Reyes

Visitation for Calixto Ramos Reyes, 89, of Minneota, MN, took place from 4-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Mass of Christian Burial and interment will take place in Ermita de los Correa, Mexico at a later date.
Calixto Ramos Reyes was born on Oct. 14, 1934, in Ermita de los Correa, Mexico. He grew up and attended school in this town. At age 18, he enlisted and then served in the Mexican Army. Calixto’s wife was Jovita Cuevas Felix. To this union were born 12 sons.
Calixto was a very hard worker. He worked as an Adobe Brick Maker and built his own home in Ermita de los Correa. He also worked as a farmer. In addition to harvesting corn, beans and other crops, he picked apples, peaches and pears. He was very creative and could build or modify just about anything. In 2017, he moved to Minnesota to be closer to family.
Calixto died on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall. He is survived by five sons and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and seven sons.
