Sharilynn (“Sherie”) Stroklund

Sharilynn (“Sherie”) Renee Lawrence Stroklund, 79, of Silver Lake, MN passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, MN.
Sherie was born in Breckenridge, MN on Oct. 15, 1946, to Carl and Audrey (Meiners) Lawrence. She grew up in Minneota, MN with two younger brothers and graduated from Minneota High School (class of 1964). During her life, she lived in Worthington, Fulda, Slayton, Vermillion (SD), Hutchinson, and for the past 35 years in Silver Lake.
She met Leslie “Les” Stroklund in 1986 when he came into the printing office in which she was working and he asked her on a date. They married a year and a half later and recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary. Together, they had a blended family of six kids. The two were rarely separated and enjoyed many road trips, catering jobs, and visits to see their kids and grandkids. They purchased their home outside of Silver Lake in 1990, where Sherie designed and together they renovated a former church into their current home where they’ve lived for 35 years.
One could say that Sherie was “created to create” as most of her work and hobbies centered around her creativity and eye for detail. In the mid-1970s, she was co-founder of the Murray County Wheel newspaper in southwestern Minnesoa and spent many years in the printing/design business. In the early 1990s, Sherie and Les worked alongside each other for 12 years operating their business, Woodworkers for Jesus, a woodworking business where they created Christian home decor and gift items. This business often gave them the opportunity to travel the country and share their faith in Christ. For the past 10 years, Sherie proudly owned and operated PrintyLady Design from her home. Whether she was creating logos, business cards, baby and wedding announcements or making t-shirt design, she was in her happy place and living her dream. She truly loved every aspect of her work and continued to operate her business up until the last couple of weeks before her passing. She had a strong work ethic that started early in her life and never lost its fire as she loved being busy. Sherie was also a talented seamstress, former Girl Scout leader and Sunday school teacher, a great cook, and enjoyed rubber stamping and making homemade cards and gifts. Her “Grandma Camp” weekends will be lovingly remembered by her granddaughters. She fiercely loved Jesus Christ, her Savior, and was an active church member throughout her life.
Sherie survived an invasive cancer diagnosis and treatment plan in 1998, and gracefully lived with the scars and complications of that cancer for nearly 28 years. In June of 2025, she was diagnosed with yet another aggressive cancer that she tenaciously fought for six months.
In addition to her husband, Les, Sherie is survived by four daughters and one son: Lisa (Jeff) Bernard (Minneapolis, MN), Amy (Mike) Budd (Sioux Falls, SD), Jennifer Koertner (Oregon, IL), Becky (Erik) Lara (Akeley, MN), and Michael (Sonali) Stroklund (Maple Grove, MN); one brother, Bradley Lawrence; sisters-in-law, Donna Lawrence, Mary (Greg) Marotte, and Elizabeth (Ron) Kurtz; brothers-in-law, Dennis (Anita) Stroklund, Brian (Becky) Minor, and Patrick (Jill) Minor. In addition, her family expanded by 15 grandchildren who also survive her: Megan (Alex) Cina-Bernard, Shannon (Leon) Bryant, Abby (Terry) Giesen, Jack (Elizabeth) Champagne. Trevor Budd, Isabelle Koertner, Daleanah Koertner, Raquel Lara, Hannah Lara, Andrew Lara, Aaron Stroklund, Bethlehem Stroklund, Catherine Stroklund, Destiny Stroklund, and Trinity Stroklund. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren who brought her so much joy, as well as aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and many cousins. She is greatly missed by her two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Elsa and Lily.
Sherie is preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, son Joseph Stroklund, brother Larry Lawrence, and sisters-in-law, Ruth Stroklund and Carollyn Lawrence.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan, 17, 2026 (with visitation starting at 10 a.m. and lunch afterwards) at Highland Community Church, 13800 US Highway 12 SW, Cokato, MN.
