Spelling Champ defends her title

Ella Bot told her mother she’d won the St. Edward Spelling Bee “every other year.”

Since she was the defending champ, winning it this year would break new ground.

And that she did, outlasting Brooke Moorse, to officially defend her title during the Catholic Schools Week celebration at the Minneota school.

Ella spelled her way through: wounded; furious; designer; unify; celery; narrate; wrestle; lawful; crocodile; thorax; stamina; navigator and sashay to claim the title.
