New sheriff to be sworn in

New Lyon County Sheriff Eric Wallen will be sworn into office on Friday, December 28 so he can take over the office by the first of the year.
In preparation for the event, the county board Tuesday made a motion approving the newly-elected Wallen to begin his term as sheriff.
Outgoing Sheriff Mark Mather didn’t enter this last election and has indicated he is retiring from law enforcement.
