Moorse takes first; dairy and general teams each place

On Monday, the Minneota FFA traveled to Brookings, SD to compete in the Region V contest.
In dairy cattle evaluation, freshman Grady Moorse took top honors as the top individual with Justin Buysse taking ninth place. Other team members include: Emily Buysse, Brooke Moorse and Logan Schuelke.
As a team, they placed fourth overall and punched a ticket to the state contest.
The general livestock team also won a trip to state placing third overall. Cody Gifford was the second place individual and Gared Moorse took tenth. Other team members include: Carly Van Keulen, Brady Gifford and Brynn Lozinski.
Donnie Schuelke participated in the dairy handling contest and he took third place honors to advance to state.
Minneota’s wildlife and fisheries team also advanced earlier in the year. Kira Gifford will be representing Minneota in the state choir.
Justin Buysse and Emily Buysse will receive their State FFA Degree and Rachel Vlaminck and Lauryn Hansen with serve as voting delegates.
The Minnesota State FFA Convention will be held April 23-25 at the University of Minnesota in St. Paul.
