The 1965 St. Edward's grade school boys basketball team won the Catholic School tournament in January in Tracy, defeating Ghent 29-22 in the final. Front row, left to right: Roger Bottelberghe, Douglas Spanton, Joseph Tillemans, Coach James DeCock, Joseph Schulte, William Bourgeois, John Dero. Back row, left to right: Gregory Ahern, Brian Gossen, Bruce Gossen, Harold Bottelberghe, Robert DePestel, Dennis Drown. Schulte was the team's captain and was also named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
