Ask the Chief
Urgent. It is time to move your sump pump discharge from your basement floor drain so that it discharges outside. When water starts moving in the ground, sump pumps discharge an ever-increasing amount of water into the sanitary sewer. This causes the sewer system, lift stations, and settling ponds to wear out faster which costs more tax money.
Special note: Don't discharge your sump pumps or downspouts onto your neighbor's yard. They won't like it and I will get called to mediate the dispute.
Thanks for your help.
