VFW seeking ‘Patriot’s Pen’, ‘Voice of Democracy’ entries

The Minneota-Taunton VFW is seeking entries for the "Voice of Democracy" audio essay contest and the "Patriot's Pen" written essay contest in which students can earn scholarships at a local, state and national level.
The Voice of Democracy audio contest is open to students in grades 9-12, including public or parochial schools, as well as those in the home study program.
The theme this year for Voice of Democracy audio essay contest is: "What are the greatest attributes of our Democracy?"
The Patriot's Pen written essay contest is open to students in grades 6-8, including those in public or parochial schools, or those in the home study program.
The theme this year for the Patriot's Pen contest is: "How are you inspired by America?"
Essays should be submitted to the local VFW by Oct. 31, 2023. Applications are available at the Minneota High School office, or call Ed Lozinski at 507-872-6838 for questions.
